Porziņģis Shines in Return
The Boston Celtics took Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals with a dominant 115-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Kristaps Porziņģis, returning from injury, led the Celtics with 25 points and 13 rebounds.
The Celtics jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 27 points in the second half. Jayson Tatum added 23 points for Boston, while Jaylen Brown chipped in 20.
The Mavericks were led by Luka Dončić's 32 points, but they couldn't keep up with the Celtics' balanced attack. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 19 points for Dallas, but no other Maverick scored in double figures.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host Game 2 on Thursday night. The Mavericks will need to make some adjustments if they want to get back into the series.
