The Boston Celtics took Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89.
The Celtics' depth proved to be too much for the Mavericks, as seven players scored in double figures. Jaylen Brown led the way with 22 points, while Jayson Tatum added 20 points and Marcus Smart chipped in with 18 points.
The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic's 25 points, but the All-Star struggled with his shot, going just 9-of-24 from the field. Kyrie Irving added 21 points, but he was also inefficient, shooting just 8-of-19 from the field.
The Celtics also dominated the battle in the paint, outrebounding the Mavericks 50-30. Robert Williams III led the way with 11 rebounds, while Al Horford added 10 rebounds.
