India beat Bangladesh by 5 runs in a thrilling Super Eight match at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Chasing a target of 162, Bangladesh fell short by just 5 runs despite a valiant effort from Shakib Al Hasan, who scored 68 runs off 52 balls.
India had earlier posted a competitive total of 161/6 thanks to half-centuries from Virat Kohli (64 off 44) and Rohit Sharma (56 off 36). Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for India, taking 3/20 in his four overs.
The win takes India to the semi-finals of the tournament, where they will face England. Bangladesh, meanwhile, will have to win their remaining match against Pakistan to have any chance of reaching the last four.
