Former Tennessee Smokies centerfielder Christopher Morel, who is now a utility player for the Chicago Cubs, gave a fan a memory and a necklace she will never forget.
At loanDepot park in Miami, Morel's self-appointed biggest fan was trying to get his attention to tell Morel how much she loved him and to ask if she could send him a crocheted cross necklace she made for him.
The fan was holding up a sign that read: "Christopher Morel, can I give you this cross I crocheted?"
Morel spotted the woman and her sign, pointed at her, and gave her a thumbs up. He then took off his chain and tossed it to her.
